Nurturing Growth & Compassionate Care Ltd (NGCC) was incorporated on 15 January 2025, founded by Elfleda Akoto with a clear mission: to raise the standard of healthcare recruitment across the UK. Too many agencies treat care staffing as a transactional process, overlooking the profound impact that the right staff member can have on a resident's life.

Based in Reading, UK, we set out to do things differently from day one. We invest in rigorous compliance processes, genuine candidate development, and building lasting partnerships with care providers who share our commitment to quality.

While our roots are in Reading and Berkshire, we proudly cover the whole of the UK — serving supported living services, family assessment units, and mental health services nationwide. Every professional we place has been through our comprehensive vetting and training process.

NGCC was founded by Elfleda Akoto with a clear vision: to deliver compassionate, nurturing, and therapeutic care that creates meaningful and lasting change in people's lives.

With over seven years of experience in the UK care sector, Elfleda has dedicated her career to supporting vulnerable young people and adults with complex needs, including care leavers, asylum seekers, individuals with mental health needs, autism, and learning disabilities.

Her leadership experience includes senior management within supported living services, where she oversaw multiple homes, led safeguarding and compliance, supervised multidisciplinary teams, and ensured the delivery of safe, high-quality therapeutic support tailored to each individual's unique needs.

Supporting a close family member living with cerebral palsy gave Elfleda firsthand understanding of the patience, consistency, empathy, and resilience required to provide truly meaningful support. This experience shaped her belief that care should go beyond meeting immediate needs — it should be nurturing, therapeutic, and focused on helping individuals grow in confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing.
